Description
This CIBT Site Safety Plus-accredited course is designed for those who have entered, or are about to enter, the construction and civil engineering industry as a member of the workforce. It provides a practical grounding in health, safety, welfare and environmental issues and is the first step towards obtaining a CSCS Green Labourer Card. Certification is valid for five years.
Objectives
Candidates will understand their individual responsibilities for keeping themselves and others safe on site, gain awareness of typical construction hazards and how they are controlled, and know what to do if they believe anyone's health and safety is being put at risk.
Course Contents
The need to prevent accidents, health and safety law, how individual roles fit into the management and control of a site, risk assessments and method statements, performing safely and how to report unsafe acts. Assessment is by a 25-question multiple-choice examination.

You will need to provide evidence that you have achieved level 1 Award Site Safety Plus Health and Safety Awareness Course. You must also pass the CITB operatives Health, Safety and Environment test within two years of applying for a new card.
